Official Scholarship Rules
NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER THE COLLEGETOOLKIT.COM SCHOLARSHIP CONTEST ("Contest").
SPONSOR.
The Contest is sponsored by Lunch-Money.com, Inc.,
350 Lincoln Place, Suite 2N, Brooklyn, New York 11238 ("Sponsor").
ELIGIBILITY.
This contest is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the
District of Columbia, 14 years of age or older at the time of entry,
who are CollegeToolkit.com student users. Employees of Sponsor, their
family members, and persons living in the same household as employees
or their family members are NOT eligible. Void where prohibited by law.
This contest is governed by U.S. law and is subject to all applicable
federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
TIMING.
The Contest begins at 12:01:00 a.m. Eastern Time ("ET") May 13, 2008.
All entries must be submitted by 11:59:59 p.m. ET, August 31, 2008 ("Submission Deadline").
Entries submitted after the Submission Deadline are not eligible.
NO INFRINGEMENT.
All entrants represent, state, and agree that their Contest Entry and
their essay will not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of
any third party, including by way of example and not by limitation,
any copyright, trademark or patent rights belonging to any third party.
Essays must be the original work of the applicant. Plagiarism in any
form will result in disqualification.
USE OF ESSAYS AND COLLEGE PREFERENCES.
All submitted essays and ranking of colleges become the property of Lunch-Money.com, Inc.,
and may be used for publicity, publication, or as content in any media, online
or offline, without further permission, consent, payment or other consideration,
unless prohibited by law. Applicants' names, city, and state may also be used
for publicity and promotional purposes. Incomplete submissions or submissions sent
after the Submission Deadline will not be considered.
HOW TO ENTER.
Contest participants must register on the CollegeToolkit.com website as a student
member. Each contestant must then complete the appropriate online application
available at http://www.collegetoolkit.com/Scholarships.aspx.
For users who will be high school students in the fall of the 2008-09 academic year,
the online application for high school students must be completed and include the
participant's first and last name, phone number, mailing address, and e-mail address,
year in school, and at least 3 colleges they are interested in ranked in order of preference.
For users who will be college students in the fall of the 2008-09 academic year,
the online application for college students must be completed and include an original
essay, the participant's first and last name, phone number, mailing address, and e-mail
address, year in school, and the college or university the user will be attending.
The contest is limited to one entry per person. If a person enters multiple times,
all of their entries will be disqualified.
DRAWING.
The random drawing will take place on or about September 15, 2008 and the potential
winners will be selected from all qualifying entries received. Winning is
contingent upon fulfilling all requirements of these Official Rules and
Sponsor's decisions as to the administration of the Contest and prize
awards are final. Sponsor will notify the potential winners on or
about September 30, 2008, in accordance with the information provided
by participant in the Contest entries. In the event that an entrant's telephone
number or address changes, it is entrant's responsibility to notify Sponsor of
such change. The potential winners, or where the potential winners are minors,
the potential winners' parents or guardians, must sign and return an Affidavit
of Eligibility and a Publicity/Liability Release (except where prohibited by law)
within seven (7) days of receipt of those documents or prize may be forfeited.
Noncompliance with this time period may result in disqualification and prize forfeiture. In the event
PRIZE / ODDS.
Two (2) Grand Prizes of US $1,000 cash. One Grand Prize will be awarded to
an applicant completing the online high school application. One Grand Prize
will be awarded to an applicant completing the online college application.
Each applicant is eligible for only one of the Grand Prize drawings.
Sponsor will give each winner a one-time cash payment of $1,000 which sponsor
would prefer winners use towards tuition, room and board, or any other
educational expense. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries
received. ALL FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL TAXES, AND ANY OTHER COSTS AND EXPENSES,
ASSOCIATED WITH THE RECEIPT OR USE OF THE PRIZE ARE THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY
OF THE WINNER. Prize is not transferable, except at discretion of Sponsor.
The prize is awarded WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, express or implied, without
limitation. If either winner chooses not to accept the grand prize, an alternate
winner will be chosen. Any prize won by an eligible minor will be awarded in
the name of a parent or legal guardian.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, modify or
suspend the Contest should fraud, technical failures, or any other factor
beyond the reasonable control of Sponsor impair the integrity of the
Contest, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion.
BY ENTERING THE CONTEST, ENTRANT AGREES TO RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS SPONSOR,
ITS PARENT, SUBSIDIARIES AND AFFILIATED COMPANIES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS,
EMPLOYEES AND AGENTS FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, CAUSES OF ACTION
AND/OR LIABILITY FOR ANY INJURIES, ILLNESS OR DEATH, LOSS OR DAMAGE OF ANY
KIND ARISING FROM OR IN CONNECTION WITH PARTICIPATION IN AND/OR ENTRY INTO
THE CONTEST OR RECEIPT OR POSSESSION, USE OR MISUSE OF ANY PRIZE OR ELEMENT THEREOF.
Sponsor, its respective affiliates, parents, subsidiaries, agents and employees
are not responsible for late, lost, illegible, incomplete, stolen, misdirected,
illegitimate, or impermissible submissions or mail; postage due mail; or any
other error whether human, mechanical or electronic.
