The Crosby MBA curriculum is designed to give students the tools essential for making superior business decisions. Emphasis is placed on preparing students for the specific career goals and promoting real-world experiences including teambuilding, direct consulting with business organizations, and opportunities to improve leadership skills. Many external speakers participate in our Professional Development Seminar, offering comments on current business topics, career paths, and the challenges facing young professionals. The curriculum is divided into three different levels of learning. The foundation program provides a solid background in core areas of business knowledge. A new integrated case approach is used in five such courses, demonstrating to students the connections between the major business functional areas. Based on prior equivalent coursework, some students with a business background can design an accelerated program. Advanced requirements heighten the knowledge base and provide opportunities for students to apply their skills in real-world business settings. Finally, students select 15 credits of elective coursework to develop a business specialty. Concentrations are available in finance, management, marketing, e-commerce, or individualized areas of special interest outside the College of Business. Formal dual degree programs are available with health services management, industrial engineering, and law.
