What Makes Our School Unique

Georgetown University, founded in 1789, is one of the nation's oldest universities. The McDonough School of Business has built on this tradition and, in the two decades since the Georgetown MBA program was founded, has risen to become a top-tier graduate business program. Located in the United States capital, the world's crossroads for political and corporate leaders, Washington, D.C. is the headquarters of many major corporations and international organizations. Its proximity to the Northern Virginia technology corridor, one of the world's leading technology communities, also provides built-in advantages for business students and faculty in their professional research and study. The focus is definitely global – where business is already and will be ever more so in the future.

The Georgetown MBA Full-Time Program is a two-year, fully engaged experience that prepares graduates to succeed in a competitive global business environment. The curriculum emphasizes critical skill-building courses in all functional areas, integrative sessions to focus these skills on crucial business issues (including a mandatory overseas consulting experience), and the opportunity to pursue elective courses along career tracks. MBA students may also pursue joint degree programs with Georgetown University's Law Center, Graduate Public Policy Program, School of Foreign Service, Medical Center, and graduate physics department. An international focus, a rigorous academic environment that fosters teamwork and rewards individual effort, and a select, diverse student body distinguish the Georgetown MBA experience. Approximately 500 students are enrolled in the MBA Full-Time Program, representing a broad cross section of students from more than 45 nations, with diverse backgrounds covering all sectors. Throughout the curriculum, international management strategies, ethical decision making, and strong interpersonal, teamwork, and presentation skills are emphasized and practiced.
